The Ultimate Inspiration Challenge: A Year in Review 2025

This card was created for Altenew’s The Ultimate Inspiration Challenge: A Year in Review 2025, a beautiful challenge that encourages us to reflect on the inspirations that guided our creativity throughout the year.

For this project, my inspiration came from an unexpected but lovely source — the cushion cover shared by Aditi Mahajan during the January 2026 Altenew challenge. I was instantly drawn to the elegant flow of the design and how the elements moved naturally across the surface.

Rather than recreating the cushion exactly, I focused on capturing its overall layout and movement. I designed my card with vines growing from the bottom to the top, just like the cushion pattern, and added flowers along the vines to bring softness and balance to the composition. To bring this idea to life, I used the Houseplants die set along with the Plants & Vases die set. These two sets worked beautifully together to build layered greenery and floral details while keeping the design cohesive.

This project reminded me how inspiration can come from anywhere — even home décor — and how translating those ideas into paper crafting helps develop creativity and personal style. Creating this card felt like a meaningful way to look back on my creative journey in 2025 and celebrate growth, experimentation, and inspiration.

Thank you so much to Altenew for hosting this inspiring challenge and to Aditi Mahajan for sharing such a wonderful piece of inspiration.
