Altenew Inspiration Challenge – November 2025

Floating Panel Card with Neutral Roses & Custom Shimmer Paste

For this month’s Altenew Inspiration Challenge, I was inspired by the “10 Intermediate Card Folds” video on Altenew’s YouTube channel. One fold in particular caught my eye—the floating panel card. I loved the idea of combining a clever card structure with soft, elegant florals.

To keep the roses neutral and sophisticated, I used Warm Grey Fresh Dye Inks. These tones gave the flowers a muted beauty that pairs well with almost any background. For added texture and shimmer, I reached for my Shimmer Relief Paste in Pearl, but instead of using it as is, I mixed in Puffy Heart Dye Ink to create a completely new custom color. This blend gave me a soft, pearly pink paste that added depth and gentle shine to the stenciled background.

The floating panel adds a touch of dimension while keeping the overall design light and airy. I love how everything came together—neutral florals, a custom shimmer paste, and an eye-catching fold inspired by Altenew’s tutorials.

If you’re participating in the challenge or simply want to try something new, I highly recommend exploring intermediate card folds—they’re easier than they look and make your cards feel extra special!
