Farewell Card – Altenew May 2025 Inspiration Challenge

I'm excited to share my project for this month's Altenew May 2025 Inspiration Challenge! The beautiful color palette really spoke to me, and I wanted to create something heartfelt and personal—a farewell card for a dear colleague, Aamirah.

Focal Point

For the floral focal element, I used the Magnificent Branch Stamp Set. I ink blended the layers using IcebergEastern Sky (for both the base and mid-layers), and Azurite for the final detailing. This gave the flower soft depth and rich blues that truly popped.

Background Details

To build the background, I began with the Luminous Diamond Rings Stencil and blended Puffy Heart and Amber Blaze for a warm, pastel-like contrast to the blue flower. Over this vibrant base, I applied Altenew Embossing Paste through the stencil, which added subtle texture and softness.

While the paste was still wet, I sprinkled a mix of embossing powders randomly across the panel and heat set it. This added unexpected dimension and shimmer to the background—a technique I’ll definitely revisit!

Final Touches

Once everything was dry, I fussy cut both the flower and the background panel to create a more dynamic layout. As a personal touch, I hand-lettered the sentiment:
"You will be missed, Aamirah"
This card was made with love for her farewell at work, and I hope it brings a smile to her face.
