Clean & Simple Boutique Cards

For my next project in the Clean & Simple Boutique Cards class, I focused on creating elegant yet quick cards using the Wild Daisies Press Plate in my hot foil system. This class really emphasized the beauty of simplicity, and I loved exploring how different foils can elevate a clean design.

Products Used:

  • Wild Daisies Press Plate
  • Kraft Cardstock
  • Gold Foil
  • Rose Gold Foil
  • Black Foil
  • Rainbow Foil
  • Cosmic Berry Fresh Dye Ink
  • Oak Moss Fresh Dye Ink

Steps:

  1. Hot Foil the Panels: I used the Wild Daisies Press Plate as a glimmer plate in my hot foil system to create a beautiful, clean floral design paired with a "hello" sentiment from the same set. I made four different panels using Gold, Rose Gold, Black, and Rainbow foils for a variety of looks.
  2. Base Panels: For the black and rainbow foiled panels, I kept the design simple and glued them directly onto the card bases. The foiled images are striking enough on their own, allowing the foil to be the focal point.
  3. Gold Foiled Panel: To add subtle texture, I scored the gold foiled panel horizontally about a quarter of the way up from the bottom. I then trimmed the panel slightly to create a thin white border on three sides when adhered to the card base.
  4. Rose Gold Foiled Panel with Ink Blending: For the rose gold panel, I added a bit of color using  the Cosmic Berry and Oak Moss Fresh Dye Inks. Using a mini ink blending tool, I lightly blended the inks over the flowers and leaves. I wasn’t too careful here; the color spilling outside the foiled outline adds a loose, artistic feel. Before adhering the panel at a slight angle on the card base, I added a few ink splatters using Cosmic Berry for extra interest.

These designs highlight how a clean, foiled image can make a card elegant and eye-catching with minimal effort. I loved how versatile the Wild Daisies Press Plate turned out to be and can’t wait to explore more of these quick yet sophisticated techniques!
